Management Team

Mike Payne

As the founder of Focus HealthCare Solutions, Mike has spent the last 10 years in many facets of Small business and the healthcare industry. Mike attended UMKC studying Information Technology with a minor in business administration. After college, he worked as an Engineer for Cerner Corporation assisting in the development of enterprise wide hospital systems. In 2002 Mike eventually gave into his entrepreneurial spirit and started Focus. The desire that drove him was primarily the concept that seniors and the disabled should have the chance to stay in their home rather than move to a facility where they would get less than adequate care. The rest, as they say, is history. Since its inception, Focus has allowed thousands of seniors and disabled the opportunity to live their lives out at home.

Tabatha Payne
Executive Director/Marketing

Tabatha has been a Registered Nurse for 10 years. Prior to founding Focus Healthcare she worked in Oncology, Neurology, Pediatrics and the Stroke Center. For the last 5 years she has devoted her time to managing the overall care of Focus Healthcare clients and training of the dedicated staff who serve them.

Verla Price

Verla comes to Focus Health Care with a variety of education and experience. She is originally from Arizona and moved to Missouri 6 years ago when she married a Missourian. She loves Missouri and has made this her home. Verla received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Brigham Young University. She then went on to earn a certificate in respiratory therapy, CNA, LPN and RN degrees. She has had training in multiple health care areas including clinical care, acute care, critical care, and emergency care working with a population range from pediatric to the elderly. She has been a director of clinical research, director of nursing for home health and is now with Focus. She is passionate that the care that is given to Focus clients is the very best.

Cheryl Michael
Human Resources Director/Recruiting

Cheryl Michael received her Bachelor in Business Management from Washburn University in 1997. She has been with the company since September 2009. With 12 years of HR experience, she is new to the HealthCare industry. Cheryl is happily married with two beautiful kids. She spends her time away from work attending kid activities and spending time with family and friends. Cheryl is a passionate person and takes pride of the work she does.

Chris Jennen
Education Director/Marketing and Scheduling

Chris has been with Focus since July 2008. Chris’ experience includes sole proprietorship of a pharmaceutical delivery company, managing a local delivery company and working as a Chaplain and Bereavement Counselor for a Kansas City area hospice. Chris has his bachelor’s degree, in psychology, from Drury University in Springfield, Missouri and his Master of Arts, in counseling, from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri. He has been married to Jana since 1998 and they have two daughters, Sarah and Allyson. In his spare time, Chris likes to hunt deer, fish and spend time with family and friends.

Barbara Suter
Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Collections

Barbara joined Focus HealthCare Solutions in 2007, bringing with her 22 years of accounting experience. Barbara’s other professional experiences include dental assistance, office management, and small business ownership. Some of Barbara’s favorite pastimes include gardening, and spending time with family, including her son, daughter, and one grandchild.

Michelle Young
Scheduling Coordinator

Michelle has a long history of patient care in a variety of positions. She has been a CNA for 12 years, CMT for 8 years and a RNA, Restorative Nursing Assistant, for about 8 years. In the past Michelle has worked in long term care, as a RA coordinator and Dietary Supervisor in a nursing facility. Four wonderful children and a fiancé fill Michelle’s free time. When she does get a moment, she likes to spend time with her family and friends or even just be alone in silence!
